Learning Designed Around the Child, Never the Other Way Round

Every child is unique and precious. Whenever I teach a young person, I know I am guiding someone who is their parent’s absolute heart and soul-a responsibility I take very seriously.

Too often, education fixates on targets rather than the journey, expecting children to follow a set narrative of development that simply does not fit who they are. Just as in nature, no two plants will ever unfurl their leaves in the exact same pattern. How tall they stand, which direction they branch, and when they flower depends on a thousand tiny nuances-the soil they are rooted in, the moisture they receive, and the quiet light they catch. One may put down deep, patient roots in practical problem-solving; another may branch into vivid artistic expression.

True education is not about equality-treating every seed identically. It is about equity-giving each individual child the exact nurture, patience, and conditions they need to flourish in whichever direction they grow. If a child feels overwhelmed or has lost confidence, it is not their job to adapt to the system; it is our job to adapt to them.

My Approach: Meaningful, Creative & Grounded in Trust

  • Curiosity First, Always: Learning should be joyful and tactile. Whether exploring outdoor maths, weaving stories, or investigating practical science, learning sticks when it has real meaning.

  • Rigour Without Pressure: Having designed whole curricula from scratch, I weave strong academic foundations into engaging sessions-without anxiety, pressure, or tick-box fatigue.

  • A Holistic View: Shaped by years alongside speech therapists, SEN teams, and outdoor practitioners, I value a child’s emotional security and well-being just as much as their academic progress.

How Tailored Learning Can Support You

Because every family’s needs and circumstances are different, support can be shaped to suit you—from ready-to-use, flexible curriculum resources you can adapt at home, through to tailored 1:1 guidance.

Here are just some of the ways we can work together:

  • Gentle 1:1 Support: Rebuilding confidence with patient, creative scaffolding across the primary curriculum, including core literacy and numeracy.

  • Neurodivergent & SEN Learners: Multisensory, movement-friendly, low-demand approaches that honour how your child naturally processes the world.

  • Home Education Guidance: Thoughtful, tailored learning structures and curriculum plans built around your family’s rhythm and your child's fascinations.

  • Transitions & Flexi-Schooling: Reassuring, grounded support for children moving between settings, recovering from illness, or flexi-schooling.

  • Local Authority & EHE Support: Thoughtful, professional progress reviews and independent written reports to help you respond with confidence and peace of mind to annual council enquiries.

How We Begin: A Free Discovery Chat

You know your child better than anyone. Our first step is simply a relaxed, unhurried chat—by phone, video call, or a few emails, whichever suits you best. There is completely no obligation.

It is a quiet space to talk about what makes your child light up, where things feel tricky right now, and what you hope to see change. Whether you are looking for regular one-to-one tutoring, a bespoke home education plan, or simply an experienced ear to help you explore your options, we can talk through ideas together.

Afterwards, take all the time you need to think things over at home and decide what feels right for your family.
