Welcome to Driftwood and Discovery (“we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and the purchase or access of our digital learning resources, printables, physical goods, and related educational services.
By accessing our website, subscribing, or purchasing any resource, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. About Us
Driftwood and Discovery is an independent educational platform based on the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom. We provide place-based rhyming stories, digital learning maps, and creative educational support.
For any queries regarding these terms, please contact us via our website contact form or at: tsdriftwoodanddiscovery@gmail.com.
2. Intellectual Property & Permitted Use
All content on this website—including but not limited to original watercolour illustrations, rhyming storybooks, digital flipbooks, learning maps, sand-art videos, text, logos, and downloadable resources—is the intellectual property of Toni Stott / Driftwood and Discovery and is protected under UK and international copyright laws.
When you purchase or access our resources (both paid and free), you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence subject to the following conditions:
Learning Maps: Our downloadable learning maps are licensed strictly for single-family personal home education or single-classroom educational use by the purchasing individual. You may print physical copies of the learning maps for children in your immediate household or pupils within your single classroom to use during study or on outdoor trails.
Storybooks & Digital Flipbooks: Our rhyming stories, digital flipbooks, and illustrations are provided for online viewing and reading only. You may not print, reproduce, bind, rip, photograph, copy, or distribute physical or digital copies of our books, stories, or individual artworks.
Prohibited Use: You may not resell, sub-licence, redistribute, republish, alter, upload to shared public drives or file-sharing networks, or exploit any of our artwork, stories, videos, or learning maps for commercial purposes without our express prior written permission.
3. Digital Downloads & Cancellation Rights
In accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013:
Statutory Cancellation Window: Consumers normally have a 14-day statutory right to cancel an online order.
Digital Content Waiver: When purchasing or accessing instant digital downloads or digital access (such as PDF learning maps or digital flipbooks), you expressly consent to the immediate supply of the digital content. You acknowledge that once the download or access has commenced, your 14-day statutory right to cancel and receive a refund is lost.
Faulty Digital Content: Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If a digital file is corrupted or technically defective, please contact us immediately at tsdriftwoodanddiscovery@gmail.com and we will provide a working replacement file. If we cannot resolve the fault within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a full refund.
4. Physical Products (When Applicable)
(This section applies to any physical goods, including printed storybooks and printed materials, as and when made available for purchase.)
Dispatch & Delivery: We aim to dispatch physical orders within 2–4 working days via Royal Mail or a reputable UK courier service. Delivery estimates apply from the date of dispatch.
14-Day Statutory Cancellation Period: Under UK consumer law, you have the right to cancel your physical purchase within 14 days of receiving your goods without giving any reason.
Returns & Refunds:
To initiate a return, notify us in writing at tsdriftwoodanddiscovery@gmail.com within 14 days of receipt.
Goods must be returned in their original, unused, and resalable condition within 14 days of notifying us.
Unless the item arrived damaged or faulty, the customer is responsible for the cost of return postage. We strongly recommend using a tracked postal service.
Once the item is received and inspected, refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 14 days.
Damaged or Faulty Physical Goods: If an item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence, and we will arrange a replacement or full refund.
5. Third-Party Event Signposting & External Venues
Driftwood and Discovery provides event listings, dates, and venue information solely as an informational guide to support home educators, parents, and families.
Independent Organisation: We do not organise, host, manage, or take bookings for third-party events or external venues (including but not limited to theatres, heritage sites, arts centres, nature reserves, community hubs, or independent workshop providers).
Accuracy & Liability: While every effort is made to maintain accurate and up-to-date listings in good faith, opening hours, ticket pricing, age suitability, accessibility, schedules, and tide times are determined entirely by third-party operators. We accept no responsibility or liability for third-party cancellations, schedule alterations, venue closures, pricing changes, or ticket availability.
User Verification: Users and visitors are solely responsible for checking and verifying all event details, timings, and booking requirements directly with the host venue or ticketing provider prior to travelling.
6. Health & Safety for Outdoor Learning
Driftwood and Discovery encourages families to explore landscapes, beaches, and historic sites. Our learning maps and activity suggestions are intended solely as creative, educational springboards.
Parents, guardians, and educators remain solely responsible for the safety, supervision, appropriate clothing/footwear, weather-preparedness, and risk assessment of their children during any outdoor visits or activities.
7. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
